Mary Kathleen O'Brien

Mary Kathleen O’Brien, 60, of Upland, California passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Mary was born on August 31, 1962, in Norfolk, Virginia and was raised by Robert and Lucille Theurer. On June 26, 1982, she married her husband, John O’Brien. Together they had two sons: Michael and Daniel. She was surrounded by loved ones throughout her battle with cancer, who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Mary is survived by her husband, John; sons, Michael and Danny; daughter-in-laws, Valerie and Sarah; grandchildren, Liam and Lucy; birth mother, Johnnie Bass; siblings Tom Miller, Carrie Bristow, Mike Tompkins, Kathy Mueller, and George Kantsios; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of Mary’s life is scheduled for 3PM on October 21, 2023 at John & Mary’s home in Upland. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the City of Hope in honor of Mary, Donate to Cards for Hope - In Memory
