Mary Parra Valadez

Mary Parra Valadez age 91, of Upland peacefully passed away in her sleep August 17, 2011 in her home. Born on October 6, 1919 in Chihuahua, Mexico, she is preceded in death by her parents Alvaro C. Parra and Selsa Hinojosa Parra. Mary was raised in Chino, CA and moved to Upland, CA which she called home. She is preceded in death by her husband, Emilio "Jiggs" Valadez whom she married in June 1939. After Jiggs retired from the City of Upland, he and Mary became proprietors of the Cucamonga Nursery from 1972 through 1998. For all their hard work and efforts, they were able to travel throughout Europe, Australia, New Zealand and truly enjoy life. Mary is survived by her brothers, Frank Herrera (Gloria) of Chino, CA, Fred Parra (Mary) of Upland, and sister Rose Vera (Salvador) of Ontario, CA. Mary is preceded in death by her daughter Theresa Valadez Banuelos. She will be greatly missed by her children, Tobie Valadez (Rebecca) of Upland, CA, Joe Valadez of Ontario, CA, and Cathi Valadez Jerrold of Norco, CA. Grandma Mary will lovingly be remembered by her grandchildren, Sam Banuelos (Julie) of Norco, CA, Carlos Banuelos of Ontario, CA, Phil Valadez (Debbie) of Fontana, CA, Dave Valadez (Linda) of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Suzie Valadez of Upland, CA, Dezharae Jerrold Robinson (Preston) of Menifee, CA, Christopher Jerrold (Jessica) of Rancho Cucamonga, CA and 19 beautiful great grandchildren. She loved all the family gatherings at her home for birthdays or holidays, as this brought her such great joy. Stone Funeral Home 355 E. Ninth Street, Upland, CA 91786. Visitation will be held August 25th from 10:00 A.M to 10:30 A.M. Mass at 11:00 A.M. St. Joseph Catholic Church, Upland, with burial procession following to Bellevue Memorial Park, 1240 W. G Street, Ontario, CA 91762.
