Nick’s ashes were spread in the Lake Arrowhead Memorial Forest.

Nicholas P. Gigante, I type these words in disbelief, reflecting on a cherished soul who radiated warmth and compassion. Nick’s genuine care for others—be they family, friends, colleagues, or pets—was truly remarkable. Proud uncle to Sammy, the apple of his eye, Nick shared her every development with joy, epitomizing the role of a doting uncle.

Nick was not only a great friend, son, brother, and uncle, but also a remarkable human being and advocate. His impact reverberates in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. Though physically absent, his memory lives on in each of us, inspiring us and reminding us of the beautiful connections we forge in the journey of life.

Till we meet again, my dear friend, may your spirit continue to shine brightly in our hearts and memories.

Pipes connected.  That's what he did.  He had a charm that was able to meet you exactly where you were, no matter the personality type.  We connected through sports, music, food.  I'll share a couple memories, and then hopefully be able to articulate my feelings.

Sports/video games: We drove to Wal-Mart after one of our controllers broke.  We wanted to buy the new Madden game as well.  It was sold out, so we bought FIFA, a soccer game. I became a huge soccer nut, and I am not so sure he was as much of a fanatic, but his British accent imitating the announcers met me where I was.  I can still hear him say "QUITTING TIME" and "JANCKER, WITH THE HEADER".

Music:  Man, Pipes was so damn talented.  We came upon a keyboard some random night, and these memories might be my favorite. Pipes had an ear for music.  He could hear a song, and play it back on the keyboard.  Michael Jackson's "Will You Be There" was easily my favorite.  He met my Napster library where it was.

I had so much fun with Nick and will forever be grateful that I got to spend the time I did with him.

If I had to explain who Pipes was, I would say that he was the guy who made it easy for our friend group to say "I love you" to each other.  What a superpower.  

He was who he was, his charm was the way charm is meant to be.  

Gary, Jeanne, Theresa, my heart breaks for your family.  You're amazing, and I want you to know how much it meant to me that someone like Nick could be proud of me.  It is probably one of the most invaluable feelings I will ever have to know that Nick had pride in the life I have made for myself now.

Both kind and one of a kind.  I will forever miss and love you Pipes.

There were things in life that would always remind us of each other and the conversation would start flowing no matter how long it had been since we last talked.  Some of those things being a four-person pong game I saw at the arcade because you know Nick aka "Pipes" and I were undefeated in doubles pong back in the day, March Madness, The Kentucky Derby and Princess Hats, Barry Melrose's Mullet, and Bill Raftery yelling "Onions"!  There were the countless horror movies we had watched and recommended to each other.  We laughed so hard during those movies no matter how bad they were.

We kept in touch and he always asked me how my kids were doing and what they were all into.  Life gets busy, so I always appreciated that he would ask about them.  I cannot say enough about Nick.   He is genuine and deeply cares about the people around him.  

So many great memories with "Pipes".  Ones that us friends still talk about to this day and will keep on talking about in the future.  He will be missed, but never forgotten.   Condolences from my family to yours.

My Best Man. Nick influenced my life and made me a better person from our freshman year at UMD until his last day. Words cannot describe how much he meant to me.  I feel grateful to have ever met him. And that he would laugh at this photo

I always enjoyed seeing and visiting with Nick whenever my parents and I would go to California, but recently Nick and got very close and were talking quite often. I will definitely miss him!!!

My Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Gary are seriously the best. They welcomed me for many summer and winter breaks into their home in Peshtigo and were gracious enough to have me tag along on many of their adventures. Above all, nothing meant more to me than spending time with my favorite cousin, Nick. I love you my friend. No matter how long it’s been, I’ll always admire you and remember the wonderful times we shared.

Kyle Jake and Nick at Bhatoya’s Wedding

Most of my life and many of my greatest memories have been influenced by Pipes (Nick).  Dating back to little league All-Star tournaments all the way to late night rants about the Packers just a couple weeks ago.   I have not had the pleasure to physically hang with Nick for quite some time but that did not stop us from growing closer over the years. That was the beauty about him. His charm and kindness erased any distance between us. Every night he made it feel like we were in the same room enjoying each other company.    I will forever miss you buddy.  I will keep talking, knowing that somewhere you’re still listening.

Many of my favorite childhood memories were made  with this wonderful family that I am still lucky enough to call my friends. Nick had a  smile that could light up a whole room and a laugh that was contagious. May we never forget him singing Hey Jude, rapping that his sister “Smalls” can’t come to the phone right now, or knowing safety in numbers could save us from the clown in IT.  Nick will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

I am very truly sorry for your loss.  I can remember several times Nick in the office coloring as we worked weekends.  Always attentive.   He seemed like a fine young man when I saw him again.
