Paul Dean Russell Sr.

Paul Dean Russell Sr., age 90, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, in Upland California. Born on January 28, 1935, in Akron Ohio, Paul lived a life marked by unwavering devotion to his family, deep faith, and a steadfast commitment to service.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Paul served his country with honor and continued to support follow servicemembers throughout his life. His dedication extended far beyond his years in uniform--he remained an active supporter of the veterans' causes and organizations, always seeking ways to give back to those who served.

Paul was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 67 years, Darlene Russell. Together they built a strong and loving family that was the center of Paul's world. He was a cherished father to four children: Suzanne, Sharon, Paul Jr., and Sandy. His love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life; he found joy in their accomplishments and strength in their unity.

Known for his warm heart and open spirit, Paul never met a stranger. His kindness and generosity left lasting impressions on all who crossed his path. Whether through acts of service at church or lending a helping hand in the community, Paul lived out his values daily-- always putting others before himself.

Faith played a central role in Paul's life. He was deeply involved in his church community and found purpose in serving both spiritually and practically. His actions reflected a quiet strength and humility that inspired those around him. Paul's legacy is one of love, service, and compassion -- a life well0lived and deeply felt by many. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of kindness in the world he leaves behind.

Services will be held Monday, October 6, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church of Upland, 869 N Euclid Ave, Upland, CA 91786. Visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Lunch reception is to follow.
