Born in Troy, NY; Pete would then move with his family to Sharon, PA from where he joined the US Air Force immediately after high school. Pete would then become a civilian helicopter pilot as well as a flight instructor at Chino airport. He went on to spend the entirety of his working life in the aviation industry, eventually retiring from General Electric as an inspector on jet engines in Ontario, CA.
In 1990 Pete would donate a kidney to his eldest son after the latter experienced renal failure.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years and a remaining son, with his elder son having passed earlier this year.
