Mary Valinotti, age 65, passed away suddenly on November 24 in Upland, CA.
Mary is survived by her husband of 33 years, Mike, their son Matt and his wife Kyla; mother Rosa Luyo; sisters Rosi Bening, Juana (Dave)Mecozzi, and Martha (Fred) Wright; father-in-law Nick Valinotti; sister-in-law Justine Valinotti; brothers-in-law Tony (Rose) Valinotti and Vin (Barbara Ann) Valinotti; eight nieces and nephews, and one grandnephew. She was preceded in death by her father Juan Luyo.
Mary was born in Peru and moved to the United States as a young girl. She graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in Glendale, CA, and attended Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. She was employed as a customer service representative throughout most of her career.
Our beloved Mary was a spiritual, kind, loving, and generous person, always striving to make sure everyone was happy. She enjoyed traveling the states by car, and recently experienced her dream vacation to Spain. Mary also loved baking, crafting, spending time with her family, and assisting others through her church, community, and other organizations. She was a dedicated Cub and Boy Scout leader and volunteer for many years; she was proud of the mature and loving men all her boys became.
A memorial service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Woodruff Ward, 6541 Woodruff Pl, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91701, on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 9:00 a.m.
At Mary’s request, her ashes will be buried at sea where she will always be able to view the beach – a place she enjoyed since childhood.
