Richard Cota of Rancho Cucamonga, known to family and friends as Richie, was 58 years young when he left this world too soon on Friday, May 29, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. Richie was born in Los Angeles County on December 7, 1967.
He left behind his mother Josefina, sisters Argelia and Diane, brothers Rafael Jr. and Ricardo, his children Richard Anthony (Mary Lou his wife), Christopher (Superman), Nicole Dominique and Abraham Domingo; His Grandkids Mary Jane, Jaxon, Trayce, Mariah, Natalya and Delilah; And also his nieces and nephews Alyssa, Victor, April, Christian and Brianna; as well as countless family members and friends. We will miss him dearly. Also Father Rafael and Sister April who left us too soon.
Richie worked as an electrician for the city many years and loved what he did. On his days off he greatly enjoyed fishing, camping, BBQ's, and family time was important to him! He loved being a grandpa. He would just roll up in his chanclas and pick up the grandkid and take off for the day. As an Uncle always wanting to take nieces and nephews to haunted houses. As a father he loved taking the family fishing, camping. He always loved going places. Did not like being home. In his recent years he may have been known as Mr. Grump but he’s our Mr Grump!!! Most recently his years were spent on many outings with youngest son Abraham. He enjoyed going to the casinos. Richie also enjoyed learning how to fix things on his cars and around the house when something gave out, but he would do it his way that’s for sure!!!
Growing up he always took care of the family making sure we were doing what we should. He was a man of his word. If he said he would do something for you he would do it!! I Diane his sister always will remember how he would always offer to wash my dirty car. Because another thing I can say about my brother is that he never had his cars dirty, always washed and kept them in good condition. There are many things that Richie will be remembered for by each person he touched with his kind or tough ways he showed us LOVE!!!! FOR ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS AND WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!! PLEASE REMEMBER HIM IN YOUR MEMORIES TO KEEP HIM CLOSE!!! THIS IS NOT GOODBYE RICHIE IT IS SEE YOU LATER!!!!
Please join us in a Celebration of Life for Richie on Tuesday, June 30th, 2026 at Stone Funeral home in Upland @ 355 E. 9th St. at 4:00 pm.
