Richard Michael Kurtz, 69, of Rancho Cucamonga, California, passed away at home on July 10, 2020. Richard was born in Pomona, California in 1950 to George and Beatrice Kurtz. Richard is loved and survived by his sons Christopher Kurtz (Violet), Dylan, daughter Jaime Davis (Jed), four grandchildren, Ryan, Nolan, Cole, and Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Donna. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1970. He served 3 years and was honorably discharged at the rank of Lance Corporal. While serving he became part of the military police. Upon leaving the Marine Corps Richard began his career with the California Department of Corrections which lasted from 1975 until his retirement in 2009 as a Sergeant. Following his retirement, Richard volunteered with the City of Rancho Cucamonga Sheriffs department as part of their Citizens on Patrol program which he thoroughly enjoyed. Richard loved collectibles, traveled all over the world and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Richard will be buried on July 28th, 2020 at Riverside National Cemetery. Due to covid-19 restrictions the service is an invitational basis only.
