He was son of Stan Jacobs, and the late Sandra Jacobs. Sister Jill Long, brother in law Kraig. Nephews Chase (wife Hillary), Austin, and niece Taylor, great nephew Walker.
Rick moved to Upland at the age of 7. He attended Cabrillo Elementary, Upland Jr. High, and Montclair High School, graduating class of 1985. He retained many friendships as far back as elementary school. Rick will be missed for his humor, he loved to joke and laugh. He took great joy in hanging out with family and friends.
He enjoyed a long career working at Utility Vault/Old Castle in Fontana. He made many friends there that lasted through his lifetime. Rick had a passion for working on cars, which was highly influenced by his dad Stan. They would spend countless hours working on projects. His latest project was a bright red 2001 Jeep. He and Sadie (his beloved dog) took 2 cross country road trips in that Jeep.
Rick was a true patriot, he loved everything about the USA. In his last years he and Sadie traveled to all 48 states. Rick loved Sadie, his country, and if you were a friend or family he never hesitated to let you know you were loved. Our hearts are broken he’s gone so soon. He will be deeply missed.
In Lieu of flowers we are asking, because of Rick’s love for dogs, that you please donate to the Upland Animal Shelter.
Rick will be honored at a Celebration of Life at Stone Funeral Home, 355 East 9th Street, Upland, CA 91786, on May 15, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
