He was born on November 30th, 1939, in Pomona, CA to Vernon and Ruth Vinatieri. He grew up with older brother Gerald and graduated from Pomona High School in 1957.
He married the girl next door and is survived by his wife and three children, Duane, James, and Michelle, his six grandchildren, Conrad, Heathyr, Rebecca, Bethany, Joseph, and Travis and his eight great grandchildren, Jackson, Adalyn, Sebastian, Aubrey, Landon, Riley, Nathen, and Samuel.
Ron was a man of many interests and talents. In his young adulthood he enjoyed serving as a drag strip starter (to his wife’s dismay) in the days before starting lighting. He and his brother Gerald were Eagle scouts. Ron later shared this interest with his sons who also obtained their Eagle scout honors. He was a troop leader for many years and became an avid collector of scout memorabilia. He loved the outdoors and cherished trips with his father and boys for goose and duck hunting.
He was a dedicated and hardworking plumber for most of his adult life, taking pride in his craft and the work he did for his community. He was also an active member of the Elks lodge and enjoyed traveling the country in his treasured RV with LaVonne in retirement.
He had a natural gift for leadership, serving on numerous RV club boards and lovingly compiling detailed family genealogies. He took great joy in organizing family reunions, helping relatives connect, share their stories, and develop a deeper appreciation for their heritage-bringing together family members who might never have known one another.
He will be missed as the patriarch of his family.
A funeral service for Ronald will be held Friday, September 5, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Stone Funeral Home, 355 East 9th Street, Upland, CA 91786.
