Ruben Phillip Belmontez

August 12, 1981 – September 28, 2025
Obituary of Ruben Phillip Belmontez
IN THE CARE OF

Stone Funeral Home

Ruben Phillip Belmontez was born on August 12, 1981, in Upland, California.

To know Ruben was to know laughter, warmth, and an unforgettable presence. He had a natural gift for humor, was quick-witted, charming, and always ready with a story or one-liner that made everyone laugh. His laugh was loud, contagious, and unmistakable, the kind that filled a room and stayed with you long after.

Ruben had a heart as big as his personality. He was the kind of person who made friends everywhere he went, effortlessly connecting with people from all walks of life. He had a way of making everyone feel seen and included, and his kindness and loyalty left a lasting impression on everyone who crossed his path. When Ruben walked into a room, it instantly became brighter; his energy, humor, and warmth could turn an ordinary moment into something memorable.

For twenty years, Ruben shared his life with his beloved partner and best friend, Amy. Theirs was a love story that began with friendship and grew into an unbreakable bond. Together they built a life filled with joy, humor, and love, where their hearts were always full and their son, Max, was at the very center of it all. Ruben and Amy loved each other and poured that same love into their family, creating a life rooted in connection, laughter, and genuine affection that will live on forever.

The greatest joy of Ruben’s life was being a father to his son, Max. He loved Max with all his heart and soul, and everyone who knew him knew how proud he was to be Max’s dad. Max was his pride and joy, his greatest accomplishment, and the center of his world. Ruben was playful, endlessly loving, the kind of dad who showed up for every moment, big and small. Whether they were watching shows and reels, joking around, riding bikes and scooters, or just spending time together, Ruben’s love for his son was pure, fierce, and unconditional.

Ruben’s passions extended beyond his family to the things he loved, cheering for the Dodgers and the San Francisco 49ers with the same enthusiasm and heart he brought to everything he did. Game days were special, and his excitement was infectious.

He also served his country with pride and distinction. As a vital member of a Combat Observation and Lasing Team (COLT) platoon during a demanding combat deployment, Ruben demonstrated extraordinary courage, leadership, and commitment. His skill and dedication directly contributed to the success of numerous missions and the safety of his fellow soldiers. His service exemplified the same selflessness and strength that he carried through every part of his life.

Ruben is survived by his beloved partner, Amy; their son, Max; his mother, Alice; and his brother, Robert. He is preceded in death by his sister, Ashley. His family will forever carry his memory in their hearts and continue to honor his life through love, laughter, and strength, just as he lived.

Ruben’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and loyalty. He will be remembered for his humor, his generosity, and his kind heart, for being the man who could make anyone laugh, who loved deeply, and who protected those around him endlessly. Though his time here feels far too short, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and in the countless lives he touched with his warmth and light.

Forever loved, never forgotten. His light will continue to shine through those who love him.

A celebration of Ruben’s life will be held where family and friends will gather to share stories, laughter, and love in honor of the incredible man he was. Please reach out directly to the family for details.
