Sal was born in Claremont, CA and lived in Upland and Ontario for his whole life. Sal was never able to meet his grandparents. His father Salvador Sr. and mother Genoveba preceded him in death along with 10 of his siblings. Sal has two surviving siblings, Jennie Morales, and Terry Leon. Sal married Amelia Zamora when he was 17 years old and were married for 52 years until her death in 1996. They had four children together; Rachel Marquez-Morales, Anthony Marquez, and Louise Granados.
He was preceded in death by his dear daughter, Linda Marquez in 1998 at the age of 32. He described his greatest gifts being his children and 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his long-time companion, Mel Ledesma.
He spent his career in agriculture and running his own landscape business, Sal’s Lawn Maintenance. He grew trees full of citrus and robust palms he loved to share with family and friends. Sal worked hard but found great joy in what he did to beautify his little piece of the world.
Sal will be escorted to his final resting place by seven devoted grandsons and one great-grandson.
