

Thelma grew up on a farm in Texas, she married Henry James when she was 17 years old, from the union she had two handsome sons Jesse and Frankie James.
In 1943, Thelma moved o Los Angeles, California with her two sons. She met Plas Dunlap on Easter Sunday 1954 and they married 8 months later on December 4th by their beloved Pastor Ella Cunnedy at Palm Lane COGIC in Los Angeles. Thelma and Plas shared a 67 year union.
Thelma accepted Christ at an early age, she dedicated to her church. She loved attending church tent revivals, horseback riding, gardening, sewing, bargain shopping, swap meet selling, cooking, hosting family dinners, BBQ's and don't forget making homemade ice cream. Thelma was kind, and giving, with a loving spirit who loved helping others.
Thelma was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and loyal friend. On her 100th Birthday , she told us " I am blessed to be 100 years old and grateful to be blessed with a sound mind" Thelma had a wealth of wisdom (the wisdom of Solomon) and always had a 1000 questions for anyone who would sit and talk.
Thelma was a resident of Inglewood, CA. for 49 years, at the age of 96 she relocated to Rancho Cucamonga, CA and on May 13th, 2021 she passed away at home peacefully with family.
She leaves to cherish her memory, husband Plas Dunlap of Rancho Cucamonga, CA. son Jesse James (Zina) of Texarkana, TX, sister Modean Taylor of Los Angeles, CA. Nine (9) grandchildren, Toni James of Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Jesse James, Jr. Zino James, and JesZina James of Texarkana, TX. Ronnie James, Teri James, Norman James, and Ricky James of Riverside , CA. great granddaughter Tiani James-Franklin and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
