Verona Despain Cottrell

Verona Despain Cottrell passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter and son-in-law on August 4, 2011. Verona was born in Pima, Arizona on January 13,1921 to Walter Gustive Despain and Clarissa Clyde Birdno. She was their fifth of seven children. She married the late Ward S. Cottrell in 1940 in Prescott, Arizona. In 1941 they moved to San Diego, California. Mt. Baldy has been their home for thirty eight years. She worked side by side with Ward in several family businesses, including Personalized Business Service in Upland. Verona has dedicated her life in service to her family and her church. She was kind of heart, loving, caring, thoughtful and sensitive to the needs of others. She left us with many happy memories and we will miss her dearly. She is survived by two sisters, Shirley and Arva, daughter Bonnie (David) Peel, son Grey (Lynda) Cottrell; six grandchildren, Eric Steven, Heather, Kelli, Brenda, and Darren; and 21 great grandchildren. Visitation: Tuesday, August 9, 9:00am to 9:45am followed by the funeral service at: 10:00am, the Church of Jesus Chrust of Latter-day Saints at 21. St. and Mountain Ave., Upland. Internment: Bellevue Memorial Park, Ontario, California
