William Ralph Harwood, affectionately known as Bill, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on November 28, 1946, in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, Bill built a life centered on family, hard work, and the simple joys that brought him happiness. He later made his home in Fontana, California, where he lived for many years.
Bill was known for his dry sense of humor, quiet wit, and steady presence. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—collecting flashlights, enjoying meals at Cracker Barrel, cheering on the Los Angeles Dodgers, and watching classic Western movies.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Sylvia Harwood, along with family and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. Bill’s legacy lives on through the love he gave and the laughter he inspired. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Military Honors and Committal of the urn will take place on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 1:45pm at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92518.
