Ivey Rhyne Bumgarner

Mr. Ivey Rhyne Bumgarner, 85, of Connelly Springs, went to be with the Lord, Monday, April 16, 2012, while at Autumn Care of Drexel. Born March 17, 1927, in Burke County, he was a son of the late Ivey Patton Bumgarner and Vera Rhyne Bumgarner. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bumgarner was also preceded in death by two sons, Floyd Rhyne Bumgarner and Ivey Lee Bumgarner and a brother, Howard Bumgarner. Mr. Bumgarner was a faithful member of the Connelly Springs First Baptist Church. He enjoyed car repair and would help out anyone in need.

Mr. Bumgarner leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 54 years, Edna Mae Lowman Bumgarner, of the home;

Two sons, Nathan Ray Bumgarner, of the home and Benjamin Eric Bumgarner & wife, Penny, of Hudson;

A daughter, Genna Siddons & husband, David, of Morganton;

A brother, Hermon Bumgarner & wife, Bessie, of Lenoir;

Two sisters, Sue Southerland, of Connelly Springs and Doris Norman & husband, Lewis, of Newton;

He will also be remembered by his grandson, Geoffrey Bumgarner & wife, Linda, of KY and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Connelly Springs First Baptist Church with the Reverends Boyde Lattermore and Danny Townson officiating. The family will visit one hour prior to the services at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Connelly Springs First Baptist Church, 6460 Spring Street, Connelly Springs, NC 28612.
