Jo Anne Griffin

Jo Anne Deal Griffin, 75, of Drexel, passed away, Monday, February 21, 2011 at Grace Hospital. Born March 20, 1935, in Burke County, she was a daughter of the late Walter Deal and Florence Cooper Deal. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn James Griffin and three brothers, Richard, Ralph & Billy Deal. Mrs. Griffin was a member of the First Baptist Church, Drexel. She was a secretary at Shadowline for many years.

Mrs. Griffin is survived by her son, Darren Griffin, of Drexel;

A daughter, Gina Griffin Dixon & husband, Daniel of Gastonia;

A sister, Mildred Garrison, of Drexel;

Also surviving her are two grandchildren, James Paul Dixon and Darian Austin Dixon, and her beloved pet, Cody.

The family will receive friends 7:00PM-9:00PM, Friday, February 25, 2011, at her residence, 108 Griffin Drive, Drexel, NC 28619.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be made in Mrs. Griffin’s memory to the First Baptist Church of Drexel, 200 S Main Street, Drexel, NC 28619. Valdese Family Funeral Care has the honor of serving the Griffin family.
