

Malcolm was born in Pineville, WV on January 26, 1944 to Nancy Hatfield Bazzie and Ernest Bazzie. He was married to his lifelong love Barbara Ann Plumley Bazzie for forty-nine years. He was a former member of the United States Air Force and loved his country deeply. He was a foreman at various mines in West Virginia for over twenty years and suffered from black lung as a result. He was a man of great faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a longtime member of Howards Creek Baptist Church in Vale, NC. He thoroughly enjoyed singing in church and wherever the urge and inspiration struck him. He loved to watch West Virginia University sports and Carolina Panthers football. He loved his family very much and was always there to offer his guidance, support and love. He will be missed dearly by all and a void that can never be filled will be left in in his wake.
Malcolm is preceded in death by his mother Nancy Hatfield Bazzie and father Ernest Bazzie. He is also preceded in death by his brothers Donald Bazzie and Keith Bazzie and his beloved cats A-Kae and Mittens. He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years Barbara Ann Plumley Bazzie of Morganton, NC. He is also survived by four children, Pamela Gainer and husband Bill Gainer of WV, Teresa Anderson and husband Kelly Anderson of VA, Regina Brendle and husband Randy Brendle of NC and Jeffrey Bazzie and wife Vanessa Bazzie of AL. He is survived by brothers Tony Bazzie and wife Anetta Bazzie of WV and Russell Bazzie and wife Nadine Bazzie of NC and sisters Sandra Dewolfe, Gail Kidd and Catherine Markuson and husband Al Markuson all of NC. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and many extended family members.
