

Arlis Baker-Young, 43, of Fayetteville, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015. He was born July 10, 1971 in Van Buren to the late Arlis and Frances Young. He was the director of Arkansas Rehabilitation Services, and founder of Arkansas Hope, a non-profit organization. He received the Counselor of the Year award by RECA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Young.
He is survived by his husband, Jamon Baker-Young of the home; two sisters, Tammy Young of Galveston, TX, and Betty Chennault of Van Buren; a brother, Alvin Young of Greenwood; and several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Oliver Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Josh Weatherford, Andrew Montague, Hayes Walton, Adam White, Paul Sexton, and Joseph Young.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
