Barbara Helen Loyd

Barbara Helen Loyd, 76, of Alma, passed away Friday, October 3, 2014. She was born October 10, 1937 in Van Buren to the late Leo and Helen Russell. She was a homemaker, and a charter member of Granny’s Quilts of Love for Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Loyd.

She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Medlock of Alma, Cynthia O’Kelly of Van Buren, and Carrie Jerrell of Pocola, OK; three sons, Buddy Loyd of Fort Smith, Kenny Loyd of Van Buren, and Bill Loyd of Fort Smith; a sister, Mary Margaret Webb of Pea Ridge; eleven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2014 at Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church in Van Buren with interment to follow at Gill Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Clauson, Caleb Clauson, Kyle Loyd, Kasey Loyd, Derrick Jerrell, Coty Jerrell, Taylor Loyd, and Philip Loyd. Honorary pallbearers will be Jessica O’Kelly, Meghan Loyd, Randi Lewis, and great-grandchildren.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2014, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
