In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert James Bruns; and her daughters’ father, Bobby Joe Perry.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Black of the home; two daughters, Penny Schevey of Barboursville, Virginia, and Crystal Perry of Alma; two stepsons, Chad Black of Alma, and Travis Black of Texas; a sister, Imelda (Bruns) Jackson of Bedford, Texas; a brother, Tony Bruns of Van Buren; and her greatest joy, thirteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Family-hosted memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at the Alma Community Center. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a trust the family has set-up at Citizens Bank in Alma. Please contact Penny Schevey or Crystal Perry for information in regards to the trust.
