Betty Inez Nance

Betty Inez Nance, 85, of Alma, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, February 4, 2024. She was born June 18, 1938 in Alma to the late James R. and Doris (Chaffin) Gregory. She was retired from the Van Buren Water Dept. after 20 years of employment. A lifelong Methodist, Inez lovingly served the Alma United Methodist Church as a member of the Fanny Miller Circle, the Board of Trustees, a choir member, and in various other capacities during her decades of dedication.

She is well remembered as a woman of strong faith with a quick smile; and a devoted and loving mother, “Ninny”, sister, and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lesli Carol Bullard; two sisters, Barbara McRae and Gayla Gregory; and a great-granddaughter, Ruby Rae Ralston.

She is survived by two daughters, Robin Mills and husband Larry of Alma, and Alyson Orr and husband Bobby of Alma; two sisters, Donita Burnett of Mulberry, and Tammy Woodard of Alma; a brother, Robert Wayne Gregory and wife Jackie of Kibler; four grandchildren, Cody Bullard (Erica) of Ozark, Kayli Rumsey (Sam) of Alma, Grant Mills (Kelsi) of Candler, NC, and Kennedy Mills of Dyer; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Gill Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be Larry Mills, Bobby Orr, Cody Bullard, Karl Bullard, Grant Mills, Paul Gregory, and Sam Rumsey.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
