Betty Jo Woods

Betty Jo Woods, 86, of Alma, passed away Monday, May 11, 2015. She was born May 19, 1928 in Alma to the late Benjamin and Lillie Orrick Denton. She was a retired administrative assistant with the Alma School District. For over 10 years, she volunteered for the Sparks Women’s Auxiliary, and also worked in the gift shop at the hospital. In 2008, she received a Distinguished Alumni award from the Alma Education and Arts Foundation. She was preceded in death by her husband, “Mick” Woods.

She is survived by two sons, Mike Woods and wife Mary of Stillwater, OK, and Rex Woods and wife Jennifer of Alma; four grandchildren, Jason Woods of Little Rock, Nathan Woods of Stillwater, Laura Coleman and husband Derick, and Hayden Woods, all of Fayetteville; and a great-granddaughter, Nora Coleman of Fayetteville.

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel. Burial will be private at Alma Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

The family will visit with friends immediately following the service at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
