Billy Charles Taylor

Billy Charles Taylor, 88, of Alma, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023 at his home. He was born April 13, 1935 in Bluejacket, OK to the late Charly and Lenor (Epperson) Taylor. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, and was a truck driver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Savage and Betty Yoder; and a brother, Marvin “Bud” Taylor.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen Taylor of the home; two sons, Billy J. Taylor and wife Laurie of San Diego, and Ernie C. Taylor and wife Vicki of Alma; a sister, Jadean Yoder of Englewood, CO; a brother-in-law, George Hayes of Michigan; seven grandchildren, Tyson, Dustin, and Sherinna Taylor, Savana Chapman, Anthony Vollmar, and Jonna and Tori Taylor; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2023 at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
