

Billy Don “Donnie” Watson, 73, of Rudy, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at his home. He was born September 27, 1943 in Alma to the late Billy Edwin and Norma Mae Watson. He was the retired owner and operator of Watson’s Garage and Body Shop in Alma, and co-owner of the Crawford County Speedway. He attended Maple Shade Church of the Nazarene in Alma, and loved deer hunting and camping.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy of the home; a daughter, Yvette Albers and husband David of Alma; a son, Billy Don Watson, Jr. and wife Kristi of Rudy; a sister, Pat Secrest and husband Tommy of Alma; a brother, Edwin Watson and wife Sue of Rudy, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 am Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Newberry Cemetery in Alma under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Bradley and Jeremy Barnett, Austin and Stefan Sangster, Thurman Blanton, Waymon Harris, Duane Rose, Daniel and David Stogsdill. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Parker and Gene Inman.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
