Bob L. Wright, 74, of Van Buren, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 19, 1947 in Richmond, CA. Bob loved Fort Smith, and spent his entire career making it a better place to live. He worked for Bell, Burroughs, Uerling Consulting Engineers for seventeen years, moving to work for the City of Fort Smith as Director of Traffic Control Department for 26 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Wright Gray; his father, Stan Wright, his stepfather, Delmar Gray; and a grandson, Logan Pearson.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Phyllis Walters Wright; a daughter, Terri Lea Gipson and husband James Ray; a granddaughter, Hannah Pearson; a great-grandson, Henry Zimmerman; a sister-in-law, Brenda Harvel; and two brothers-in-law, Buddy Walters and Gary Walters
Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR. At Bob’s request there will be no service. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022 at their home, 3508 Lincoln Trail in Van Buren.
