Carl “Buddy” Whitlock, 82, of Alma, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021 in Fort Smith. He was born August 19, 1939 in Alma to the late Ayers and Willie (Teague) Whitlock. He was a builder and designer, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Alma.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Whitlock of the home; a son, Doug Whitlock and wife Becky of Alma; two granddaughters, Megan Chronister and husband Jeremy of Alma, and Hannah Erb and husband Lewis of Alma; and two great-grandchildren, Knox Chronister and Harper Erb.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Alma City Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Chronister, Lewis Erb, Bronson Inge, Kelton Inge, Lynn Inge, and Steve Meadors. Honorary pallbearers will be Claude and Marie Hatley, Kenneth Hanna, Tom Leverette, David Abel, Ray Peevy, and Tom Wilson.
Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
