Curtis R. McDonald, 83, of Fort Smith, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at his home. He was born September 26, 1942 in Van Buren to the late William and Leona (Tucker) McDonald. He served his country in the U.S. Army, and was a co-owner/operator of Midwest Refreshments for 25 years. Curtis also drove a fuel tanker for Flash Oil, and was manager over the concession stand at Westark Community College for many years. He was a member of the Westark Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Bea of the home; a daughter, Genoa Price and husband Jeremy of Fayetteville; a son, Travis McDonald and wife Jeanie of Van Buren; five grandchildren, Chelsea Cole, Maile McDonald, Brody Price, Josie Price, and Penny Price; and a great-grandson, Beckett Cole.
Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
