David D. Lockwood, 87, of Van Buren, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021 at his home. He was born September 19, 1933 in Holyoke, CO. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Cass Job Corps. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight and Mildred (Knapp) Lockwood; a son, Damon Lockwood; a sister, Gwynne Tucker; two granddaughters, and a great-granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Lockwood of the home; three daughters, Colleen Nick of Alma, Bobbie-Jo Martin of Van Buren, and Laura Moss Moore of Springdale; four sons, Wayne Lockwood of Fort Smith, Chip Lockwood of Mingo Junction, OH, Ron Moss of San Diego, and Mike Moss of Fort Smith; a brother, Charles Lockwood (Norma) of Austin, TX; fourteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
Family-hosted memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Heritage United Methodist Church in Van Buren followed by an Honors Service at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
