The second of five children, David grew up in Fort Smith. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and received a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Army from Arkansas Tech University. He served in the U.S. Army with assignments in South Korea and Germany, eventually rising to the rank of Captain. After his military service, David returned to Fort Smith and worked at Whirlpool until his retirement.
David had a deep love for literature and movies and was known for his ability to answer any question you threw at him. His Christian faith, shaped by a strong Christian upbringing and his study of such authors as C.K. Chesterton and C.S. Lewis, gave him faith and hope that have now become sight.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Aileen Taylor.
He is survived by his sister, Linda Sullivan (Fred) of Alma; three brothers, Mike (Dianne) of Sachse, Texas, Jerry (Sarah) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Roger (Jennifer) of Alma; and one aunt, Evelyn Harmon of Tulsa, Oklahoma. David is also survived by ten nieces and nephews and their families.
Our family would like to express sincere gratitude to Fred and Linda Sullivan, and to his special friend Martina Thompson for the care and support they provided to David during his final days.
