Denny Ray Garrett

Denny Ray Garrett, 48, of Alma, AR died Monday, August 20, 2012. He was born August 9, 1964, in Fort Smith, AR. He was a self-employed construction worker, who loved to hunt, fish and enjoy the great outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Garrett of the home; a daughter, Kandice Garrett of Van Buren; a step-daughter, Ashley Robertson of Alma; a step-son, Chad Brisher of Van Buren; his father and step-mother, Johnny and Betty Garrett of Cedarville; his mother and step-father, Margie and Ray Whitfield of Kibler, AR; three sisters, Doris Jones of Cedarville, Melissa Cummins of OK, and Kay Garrett of CA; two brothers, Gordan Nichols and Donny Garrett of Kibler; and one grandchild, Payton Robertson.

Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 at Gill Cemetery, Van Buren, AR, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be George Jones, Jason Jones, Chad Brisher, Cody Brisher, Charles Whitworth, and Ricky McFadden. Honorary pallbearers are Gordon Nichols, Chance Brisher, Charles Householder, and David Choney.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
