Donald O. Denson, 92, of Mountainburg, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026 in Alma. He was born June 27, 1934 in Gladewater, Texas to the late Percy and Julia (Kelly) Denson. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953-1961, having received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He had worked for Frontier Airlines for 22 years in Lawton, Oklahoma.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Harris Denson.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Denson of the home; two daughters, Mindy London and husband Lonnie of Oklahoma City, and Liz Wright and husband Lee of Marlow, Oklahoma; his stepchildren, Gail Crawford and husband David of Alma, Robert Dyer and wife Judy of Mountain Home, Scott Dyer and wife Robbie of Mountainburg, and Louise Burrough and husband Randy of Mountainburg; a sister-in-law, Carol Denson of Yantis, Texas; five grandchildren, J.C. Reeves of Norman, Oklahoma, Rusty Wright (Misty) of Marlow, Ty Vanbebber (Peyton) of Mustang, Oklahoma, Madison Richardson (Chris) of Oklahoma City, and Chris London (Ruth) of Tulsa; seven great-grandchildren, Jacobe Wright, Katelyn Cullum, Kynlea Wright, Tayson Davis, Bennett Wright, Marlie Doherty, and Ryder Vanbebber; numerous step-grands, -great-grands, and -great-great-grands; and his nieces and nephew.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.
