Dora Jean Paxton

Dora Jean Paxton, 83, of Van Buren, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at her home. She was born March 3, 1933 in St. Paul, AR to the late Norman and Virginia George. She was retired from Medi-Home in Fort Smith, and was a member of Shibley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Paxton; and a brother, Jimmy Ritter.

She is survived by three daughters, Billie Robbins and husband Ron of Van Buren, Carol Paxton of Van Buren, and Patricia Marquis and husband Corey of Van Buren; a son, Jackie Paxton and wife Carolyn of Van Buren; a sister, Mary Nuckolls of Alma; two brothers, Eugene Kimble and Larry Kimble, both of Fort Smith; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Shibley Baptist Church with interment to follow at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Ben Hicks, Easton Stroud, Jesse Paxton, Jacob Marquis, Johnny Key, and Ron Robbins.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren.
