

Elizabeth Ann Walker, 81, of Van Buren, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025 in Fort Smith. She was born March 12, 1944 in Kennett, Missouri. She had worked for the U.S. Post Office in Fort Smith, was a member of the “Pink Ladies” and the Crawford County Volunteers for Literacy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira Walker and Iva Pearl (Barton) Hendley; her husband, David L. “Smokey” Walker; a son, David Walker, Jr.; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Leeanne Walker; four great-grandchildren, Bobby McCarville, Abbygale McCarville, Lydia Ballard, and Ariel Davis; and four sisters, Darlene Jurmu, Dorotha Flanery, Dora Hufsleder, and Bernice Turner.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Seratt and husband Brad of Van Buren, and Ann Pepple of Van Buren; a son, John Walker of Fort Smith; two sisters, Maxine Richey of Walnut Ridge, and Sheila Grooms of Cherokee Village; two brothers, Ray and Robert Walker, both of Paragould; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2025 at Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Michael Luna, Jennifer Evans, Brad Seratt, Josh Shearburn, Donny Mizel, and Tommy Pepple.
The family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
