Ellen Sue Engle, 76, of Mulberry, passed away Friday, July 10, 2026 at her home. She was born August 15, 1949 in Holdrege, Nebraska to the late Earl and Elburna (Haverty) Nicholas. She had worked in the corporate office for Dillard’s for over thirty years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Magnus; and two brothers, Gary and George Nicholas.
She is survived by two daughters, Shannon Evans of Rudy, and DeAnna Arnall of Columbia, Missouri; a sister, Linda Watkins of Mulberry; four grandchildren, Hattie Arnall, Emmit Arnall, Amber Parker, and Brandy Pettengill; and eight great-grandchildren, Jaycee and Raylee Fryar, Irvin, Callie, and Payton Parker, and Holly, Brayden, and Elana Barnes.
A family-hosted Celebration of Life will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at Beyond Church in Alma. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
