Elsa Monterroza

Elsa Monterroza, 72, of Van Buren, passed away Friday, May 16, 2025 at her home. She was born September 15, 1952 in Tahuilapa, El Salvador to the late Trinidad Calderon and Dominga Domitila Peraza. She had worked at OK Foods.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Orlenda Marisela Monterroza; two sisters, Otilia Vidal and Odilia Martinez; and a brother, Blas Calderon.

She is survived by two sons, Eliseo Monterroza and Alonso Monterroza; siblings, Fredis Calderon, Cotarine Calderon, Maribel Garcia, Vilma Vasquez, and Lucila Calderon; and grandchildren, Orlenda M. Monterroza Moses, Emily M. Monterroza, Cindy M. Monterroza, Emanuel I. Monterroza, Allison J. Monterroza, and Eliel A. Monterroza.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2025 at Gracelawn Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Viewing will begin 9:00 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025 until 9:00 p.m., and 9:00 a.m. Friday, May 23, until the funeral hour at Iglesia Bautista Hispana Getsemani, 300 South 17th Street in Van Buren.
