Elva “Pete” Winchester, 87, of Mountainburg, AR, died Sunday, January 22, 2012 in a local hospital. He was born February 27, 1924 in Gainesville, TX. He was a retired carpenter and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by a daughter, Colleen Betzina of Ashland, OR; two sons, Greg Winchester of Crestline, CA and Dale Winchester of Mountainburg, AR; a sister, Bonnie Gore of Melbourne, AR; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel in Van Buren, AR with a 2:00 P.M. committal service at Fayetteville National Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.
The Family will receive friends from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
