Everett Gartrell, 82, of Van Buren, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014. He was born January 10, 1932 in Haskell County, OK to the late Jon and Pearl Gartrell. He was retired from the Missouri-Pacific Railroad, and was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley.
He is survived by a daughter, Kattie Justice of Van Buren; two sons, Lee Gartrell of Fort Smith, and Buddy Gartrell of Van Buren; two sisters, Carolyn Fowler of Hoxie, AR, and Ludie Tapp of Powhatan, AR; two brothers, Sam and Bill Blevins both of Lynn, AR; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Walls, Jimmy Walls, Chris Gregory, Bill Bartlett, Nathan Blevins, and Cody Honey.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
