Faye Marie Bass

Faye Marie Bass, 81, of Van Buren, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 in Fort Smith. She was born August 15, 1934 in Marksville, LA to the late Forrest Lemoine and Josephine Mayeux. She was a homemaker, and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Randall Bass.

She is survived by her husband, retired Sgt. Major John “Buddy” Bass; four daughters, JoAnn Bass of Las Vegas, and Renie Davis, Lynette Staton and Sherri Bass, all of Fort Smith; a son, John Bass Jr. of Van Buren; two sisters, Jewell O’Pry of Shreveport, and Bonnie Lemoine of Marksville, LA; a brother, Gerald Lemoine of Marksville; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel. A private committal of ashes at Fort Smith National Cemetery will be under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren.
