

Ferrel Quentin Stephens, 83, of Dyer, AR, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012, in Fort Smith. He was born November 24, 1928 in Dyer to the late Samuel and Bertha Stephens. He was a retired supervisor for James River/Dixie Cup in Fort Smith. He was a cattle and poultry farmer; an avid hunter; and a Razorback supporter. He served on the Dyer City Council and the Board of Directors for Farm Bureau Insurance of Crawford County; was a past president of Dixie Cup Federal Credit Union; a certified trainer for the Dyer Volunteer Fire Department; a Master Mason of Remy Lodge 487 and Alma Lodge 735; a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict; and member of the Dyer Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Belle; a sister, Lugenia Whitlock; and a brother, Billy Stephens.
He is survived by two sons, Ronnie Stephens and wife, Dee of Granger, IN, and Steve Stephens and wife, Carolyn of Fayetteville, AR; and three grandsons, Aaron Stephens of Houston, TX, Jared Stephens of Laredo, TX, and Ellison Stephens of Fayetteville, AR.
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel with burial at Simmons Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites, near Dyer, AR under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Sammy Whitlock, Randall Whitlock, Justin Hunter, Jerry Summers, Frankie Summers, and Larry Summers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, November 16, 2012 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren, AR.
