George Edward “PeeWee” Smith, Jr., 70, of Van Buren, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025 at his home. He was born July 13, 1954 in Van Buren. He was the owner/operator of George E. Smith Construction Co. and was tasked with mowing the levee. He was a 32nd degree Master Mason.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby (Foster) Smith.
He is survived by is wife of 44 years, Kathy Smith of the home; two daughters, Rachel Smith-Hamilton of Little Rock, and Stephanie Kaylor of Greenwood; his father, George Smith, Sr. of Van Buren; two sisters, Cheryl Smith and Connie Bredernitz, both of Van Buren; four grandchildren who lovingly called him “Pia”; and three granddogs.
Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Viewing and visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
