

George A. Willis, 71, of Alma, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in Fort Smith. He was born July 7, 1944 in Lamesa, TX to the late George and Mary Willis. He was the owner/operator of Willis Painting Co. in Alma; a member and head Deacon of The Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Alma; and served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Retta of the home; two daughters, Linda Jones of Morrilton, and Brenda Lewallen of Alma; two sons, Ricky Willis of Alma, and Jimmy Dean Willis of Van Buren; a brother, Terry Willis of Glenn Heights, TX; fourteen grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Alma with interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Steve Harris, J.L. Scowden, James Dozier, Clayton Jones, Jesse Willis, and Marshal Dyer. Honorary pallbearers will be David Lewallen, and Ronnie Cole.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren.
