Doug Carter, 81, of Muldrow, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025 in Fort Smith. He was born July 26, 1943 in Holdenville, OK to the late Oliver and Syble (Anthony) Carter. He served his country in the U.S. Army, and was a retired supervisor for AT&T.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Geanie Christinbery; and a brother, Lawrence Carter.
He is survived by his wife, Leona Carter of the home; two sons, Casey Carter and wife Rachel of Van Buren, and Chris Carter and wife Angela of Celina, TX; and seven grandchildren, Isaac Carter (Tessa), Gabriel Carter, Gracie Carter, Kaylee Carter, Seth Carter, Kane Carter, and Owen Carter.
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2025 at Butterfield Church in Van Buren. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR. Ashes will be placed at the Fort Smith National Cemetery at a later date.
