

Harold Wayne Capek, Sr., 74, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at his home. He was born November 24, 1951 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin to the late Joseph and Betty (Hendricks) Capek. He retired from the U.S. Army after 32 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Capek; a son, Harrison Jay Riddle, Jr.; and a grandson, David Wayne Priest, Jr.
He is survived by five daughters, DeAnn Steele and husband R.C. of Stigler, Tasha Lovelady and husband Brian of Alma, Rose Capek of Wisconsin, and Michelle Capek and Wendy Capek, both of Cornell, Wisconsin; a son, Harold Capek, Jr. and wife Laura of Mountainburg; two sisters, Linda Jones and husband Tom of Colfax, Wisconsin, and Rainey Lairy of Cornell, Wisconsin; three brothers, Charles Capek and wife Sam of Colfax, Wisconsin, Joel Capek and wife Wendy of Buffalo, Minnesota, and Sonny Capek of Ozark; nineteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Fort Smith National Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be R.C. Steele, Brian Lovelady, John Riddle, Charles Capek, Scott Edwards, and Jose Arriola. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Capek III, Liam Capek, and Brantley Harris.
Family will visit with friends on Monday, July 6, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Hwy, Van Buren, AR.
