

Hank was born in Malvern, Arkansas on February 23, 1947 to Carl D. and Ida Mae (Schweitzer) Burnett. He attended school in Malvern until his senior year, graduating from Alma High School, Class of ’65. He then joined the U.S. Air Force, becoming a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, during which time he was a proud flight engineer for the U.S Air Force’s heroic combat search and rescue team of the “Jolly Green Giants.” These brave Airmen were said to have been the most resilient and dauntless service members, responsible for saving countless American and allied soldier’s lives.
Upon return from his tour of duty with the U.S. military, he attended Arkansas Tech University, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Business. He went on to work for CapCo in Van Buren for 29 years as a foreman and eventually a Quality Control manager. After his retirement, Hank would most likely be found tending his garden.
Hank will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 55 years, Donita (Gregory), daughter Ginger Burnett of Van Buren, sisters Judy Kelley and Betty Beauchamp of Fort Smith, brother Guy Burnett (Brenda) of Malvern, Sister-in-law Deana Burnett of Alma, Melody English and Brooklynn Massey of Van Buren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Carl and Ida Mae, sisters Mary Jo McIver and Sue Cox, brothers Carl Jr., Alfred, and Ronnie, and a nephew Larry McIver.
At his request, the family will celebrate his life in a private gathering. He will be buried at Gill Cemetery in Kibler, Arkansas.
