Ivan E. Dillard, 84, of Alma, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018, in Fort Smith. He was born October 13, 1933 in Barling, AR to the late Forrest and Rose Dillard. Ivan married his wife Ruby of 62 years in Fort Smith, AR in 1955. He was a real estate broker and served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a loving husband, wonderful father and a good Christian man. He enjoyed playing and singing gospel music as a member of the “Harmony Four” quartet. We all loved his talent for playing the piano, as did the members of his church where he faithfully played for 42 years. Everyone knew him as a man of great character and integrity and a better man you could not find. We love you and will miss you Pop’s. Until we meet again.
He is survived by his wife Ruby Dillard of the home; son, Brad Dillard and his wife Kim of Springdale; sister, Edith Hudson of Van Buren; brother, Erbie Dillard of Van Buren and a granddaughter, Jenna Lemke and her husband Sam of Rogers.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday, April 20, 2018 at Vine Prairie Baptist Church in Mulberry with burial at Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
The family will visit with friends Thursday, April 19, 2018, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Hwy, Van Buren, AR.
