James Youngblood, 79, of Alma, passed away Friday, March 5, 2021 at his home. He was born August 1, 1941 in Mesa, AZ to Carl and Erma Youngblood. He was a retired Staff Sergeant for the U.S. Marine Corps receiving a number of medals, including a Purple Heart, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Navy Cross Medal. He had also been an accountant, and a road crew engineer. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and a stepson.
He is survived by a daughter, Jody Martin of Kingston, GA; a son, Bryon Youngblood of Avon, CT; three stepsons, Perry Van Horn, Darrine Van Horn, and Gary Van Horn; five sisters and five brothers; sixteen grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR. There are no services scheduled at this time.
