Jerry R. Black, 53, of Rudy, Arkansas, died Friday, March 16, 2012 in Fort Smith. He was born March 23, 1958 in Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Martin Black, and a sister, Theresa Belle Black.
He is survived by his mother, Ora Joyce of the home; two sisters, Marie Carson of Rudy, and Lynn Wilson and husband Wayne of Rudy; a brother, Billy T. Black and wife Patricia of Rudy; six nieces, one nephew, two great-nieces, and seven great-nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel in Van Buren, with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Robert Wilson, Bobby Barker, Curtis Brown, Tony Trammell, Nathan Stephens, Bruce Wilson and Joey Strozier.
Honorary pallbearers will be nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren, AR.
