Jewell Stallings

Jewell Stallings, 97, of Van Buren, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026 at her home. She was born January 20, 1929 in Van Buren to the late Clyde and Florence (Pitchford) Kendig. She spent most of her working career in the dental industry before retiring as the Deputy Tax Collector for Crawford County.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Olen Jewell Stallings; two sisters, Norma Sue Mootry and Pat Lucille Sempel; and four brothers, her twin-brother, Euel, L.C., Gerald, and Jimmy Kendig.

She is survived by a sister, Margie Russo of Oakley, CA; and a brother, Donnie Kendig of Bakersfield, CA.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Gill Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be Keith Moore, John Kendig, Ezra Pitchford, Dave Frederick, Paul Pitchford, and Mardy Hawkins.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2026, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
