Joe Cody, 71, of Cedarville, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2019 in Fort Smith. He was born July 22, 1948 in Davidson County, NC to the late Marshall and Ethel Cody. He was a retired upholsterer for Main Street Interiors in Van Buren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Cody; and a daughter, Jo Lana Turman.

He is survived by his companion, Gwenna Jones of the home; a son, Jason Cody of Van Buren; two sisters, Onie Swaney and Mary Lois Cody, both of Denton, NC; three brothers, Wayne, Robert, and Ricky Cody, all of Denton, NC; five grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2019 at Gill Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be Wes Turner, Ronnie Turner, Hunter Turman, Kaleb Jones, Eddie Oden, and Jonathan Turner.

The family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 2019, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
